Typical Decompression Treatment

Your decompression treatment in my office is a pleasant, painless, relaxing experience.

We begin with some heat on your spine to relax the muscles and get it ready treatment.

After 10 minutes or so we move to the Spinal Aid decompression table. This table is FDA-recognized as a true decompression machine.

You lie on your back and are harnessed to the table; it is very comfortable.

I set the table to gently pull your lower back, creating a stretch without pain. Many people feel relief immediately as their back is now opening up and the pressure on the nerve is taken off...some people feel the best they have in years during their first visit!

The table goes through pulling and relaxing cycles. This is different from regular traction as the pulling and releasing has been shown to decompress the disc, making the disc BIGGER (widening the space to take pressure of the nerve), and it does so WITHOUT causing the muscles to spasm.

In fact, most patients actually fall asleep during the treatment.

Following the decompression treatment, which is typically 20 minutes, I generally put an ice pack on the lower back to calm the area back down and to minimize any inflammation.

Back pain, leg pain, pain down the legs...it's all helped by this treatment.
